Alistair Overeem: HW Champ 2014
Near, far, wherever you are...

Once more, you open the door.
And you're here in my heart.
And my heart will go on and on.

LOL well done. BTW, come on guys, his chin was not the issue. He got tagged multiple times before going out. Maybe you can criticize him for being semi-Frank Mir there with the freeze and just cover when tagged...but it's not like he went down from weak shots.

Nice call Lolwer89 lol! I guess being a teen-aged internet troll and a blowhard who says he spends hours studying MMA and thus knows vastly more then everyone else doesn't mean you can pick a winner eh, lol! Oh well, keep your chin up son it's all good. Once Reem gets back on the horse meat and roids he will get some more wins.

respect to lawler not easy to support a fighter through ups and downs.
Most of this forum is not a fan of any fighter so they will never know what it is like
I thought the fight was entertaining and hope that this is a wake up call for reem to take training seriously again. I thought he peaked in the k-1 tournament and he needs to get that intensity back.

this proved he has a chin?.... it was already proven it was always suspect
the reem problem was cockyness n gassing out point blank period.... he needs to switch his training methods & lose some size tbh... him along with the diaz bros need to come together n meet at a middle ground cause both guys prob wont win belts without integrating each other training methods

Overeem is still a top 5 HW and can win again. People lovvve to right off Bigfoot like he's a nobody, probably as a way to discredit Fedors loss to him but Silva is literally a monster. Relentless, well rounded and moves incredible for a guy with his body structure. He can win against any other HW. I wouldn't count him out in rematches with Cain or Cormier either.

I agree with all of that...except for the moves incredibly...and thinking he could beat Cain or Cormier. JDS' handspeed would also slaughter him. He's an underrated HW and very good and dangerous...but he's very slow...and his head doesn't move. Overeem got in trouble tonight because he excels more at closer range, and Silva tied him up when they got close. Overeem was definitely overconfident and seemed rusty to me, but he also got tired by the 3rd round.

He was nearly out on his feet, so no that did not prove he has a good chin.
Overeem deserved to lose. How can a fighter be that cocky, especially at HW... Walking to the cage with that stupid ass crooked hat and acting like he already won the fight. Then he gets in the cage and hardly lands any good strikes while keeping his hands at his side like a douchebag. Then just like old times, he gets finished as soon as things don't go his way.Anti-*******ry Crew

cain got ko'd in the first round by jds yet he is now champion after two wins since that fight
the hw division is weird so he easily can get back into the title hunt especially considering how much dana is paying him. If he loses his next fight he is in serious trouble so I really don't think we are going to see him be so careless again. This is his first loss at hw so hopefully he takes this as a serious learning situation. I'd like to see him improve his cardio and speed. His huge counter boxing style works with big gloves and no takedowns but he needs to adapt his striking game for mma as well as his body. He is holding too much muscle imo for his body structure, he needs to possibly drop some muscle and work heavily on his cardio and speed.

The biggest factor in him getting ktfo wasn't ring rust, his chin, cardio , speed, or going off roids. He was being a jack ass. He was fighting with his hands down against a 285lb man acting like he can't get hurt.
He fought stupid, he fought arrogant, and he paid for it. A guy he shouldve demolished beat him because of it. It was embarassing to watch.
I was afraid it would happen and that he was underestimating silva, but watching it unfold live was just pathetic.you wanna know how i did it, this is how, i never saved anything for the swim back.

I havent even checked sherdog yet, I can't imagine how bad it is. The worst thing ive seen here tonight is that this fight proved you can't block in mma...
I'm trying to remember the last time I got so butthurt(yeah I can admit it) over a fight lol.
EDIT: were you implying i posted this on sd? I never post on sd, only browse for news. Theyre even worse then this place with the trolling and **** talking so I just avoid posting. Ever.Last edited by battousai216; 02-03-2013 at 01:29 AM.

Honestly overeem needs to get back with golden glory. His striking just isn't as polished and I don't think he's pushed in the same way for training.
Bigfoot is no joke either, my mouth dropped when he went for a high kick. Still think he'd be trouble in a rematch for cain/cormier. Dude is a relentless monster when he's on point.
