This thread is simple, im looking for someone to race to a 5 plate deadlift one rep max (495 x 1). I just began deadlifting after not dling for a year and hit 315 for 8. If anyone wants we can just do a 450 deadlift. Ive always found having someone to compete against helps improve motivation etc.
Rules: be inbetween a estimated max of 375 to 400 currently
Chalk is allowed
Belt or straps can be decided if we allow them or not

This will be a long thread both length and time wise, so lets say now lets keep it clean with deadlift videos, pictures, deadlift discussion and that sort of thing, rather than have it become a thread with 20 topics.
Lets post vids or pics whenever a notable achievement is made or when you want help with form, etc.
First to 495 wins, and gets repped by everyone competing. I say next 10 all get repped by everyone as well, open to suggestions regarding the reward system. Also, if a mod is willing to rep the winner(s) then that would be fantastic!
And lets do a RAW competition, this means 3 notable things; chalk and belt are allowed, no powerlifting suits, and no hitching! There is no judge right now but maybe a person will step up who knows their stuff (if any elite powerlifter, powerlifting judge etc is reading this, please step up!).
More updates and refining will come as this thread moves along.
My next heavy deadlift session is thursday, lets get the bar moving!

check updates to first post. at this stage the rules etc are still open for discussion but a few things that won't change. 1 must not have deadlifted above 450 before, i really think it should be lower like 420 but oh well. 2. must be a raw lift, chalk and belt allowed. 3. must be within teen misc age. 4. must be willing to rep the winner(s).

In with a current 200kg (440lb) deadlift
Sumo style, chalk used, no belt, no preworkout.
Edit: Did 180kg (396lb) for 7 reps in my last deadlift workout so i should technically have a 1rm pretty close to 5 plates. But havnt even been able to lift 205 yet.Last edited by KenyonDonaldson; 02-13-2013 at 01:38 AM.
