Hi,
Following a bit of a break I have decided to start cutting again.
I was wondering if these cals/macros look ok or maybe the cals are too low
1,952 calories/day
Carbs / Day 122 g
Fat / Day 76 g
Protein / Day 195 g
When cutting previously I was as low as 1,600 per day and I went from 285lbs down to my lowest at 224lbs however I stalled quite often.
Now I have gone up to 244lbs I am unsure what calories to start at.
I lift heavy 3 days a week and do cardio 2 times a week.
Cheers,
Al

The goal is to eat as much as possible, while losing weight at a steady pace. I'm 163 lbs and cutting on 2500 calories a day, losing about 1.6 lbs per week. On 1900, I would lose about 2.5- 3lbs per week. Which is a bit too fast to maintain muscle and be able to recover from my work outs.
Go as high as possible, and only drop calories when necessary. Up your carbs by 50-100g once a week to keep your metabolism from adapting to the caloric intake and therefor stalling weight loss.
But this is very individual, if you are very overweight and have a high bf% you can lose at a much faster rate safely. Read the nutrition stickies and watch every video Eric helms has ever been in.
Cardio is not necessary, but if you burn 400 calories with cardio, you could eat 100 more grams of carbs or protein while maintaining the same energy intake/expenditure. This means better recovery. So it can be highly beneficial if you are stalling at low intakes.Founder Self-Development Crew

Hi,
Thanks for this it’s very helpful.
Problem I have is I work a desk job for 10hrs a day and I think that if I upped my cals anymore I may not lose.
Do you think heavy lifting 3 x week is enough?
My lifts have increased loads since my break so in that respect I feel quite good.
Its just that the scale isn’t shifting in my favour!Sept - Jan comp
