Oh wow, surprised they didn't get a bunch of female contenders already. May try next week, usually do em seated but should see what I can put up standing these days.
Current PRs:
Bench Press: 200x1
Deads: 315x1
Back Squats: 275x1

could really use some of the fairer sex in my competition lol. other than the occasional kitchen or sammich joke i think i can keep the rape jokes, nood requests, and other garbage out of there if you ladies compete.

First off, thanks Iceman for posting this here. Would have never noticed it in the Misc.
Second, I understand why there is only one class for women but still...not that I am trying to doubt myself...but since others are now keen on joining in..I don't know if I can really compare to a female who would have been in a different weight class....if they existed.
I might still do it for fun though

^^this. I do seated, DB OHP now, so I'd have a lot of learning to do by the end of March in order to stand and use a BB instead. I'll add BB OHP to my split now, and maybe I'll be ready next time around, but I'll definitely sub and cheer on the ladies who do enter now! Good luck, all

Gorilla, if there are no weight classes and no weigh-ins for the women, does that mean it will be solely judged on weight moved? I can see not going through the trouble of not setting up weight classes, but going by pound-per-pound strength would be fairer.
Thanks for that thing with the thread a while back, btw

Good point! This is very true.
Well, I'll be working on my OHP. I am use to doing a bb push press or db ohp. I have done bb ohp just not use to it. So this will be a new challenge for me but I am up for it. If my lift isn't too embarrasing for myself lol ...by March I'll be sure to enter.
I'm excited.

I think this would be acceptable as long as your knees stayed locked and you didnt jerk the weight(obviously)
I have not had a lot of luck getting female competitors in my front squat or overhead squat comp. But because of the nature of this website i do get a lot of male competitors. As VA noted if i get more women pushing weight on this one i can easily justify needing more weight classes on future comps. Hoping with this being a more common lift i can get that participation
I could do this if a majority of the women here/competing would like a Wilks based judging. I have used Wilks and other forms of BW vs. Weight lifted type of calculations before.
Weigh ins would be required if you and the rest of the Female BB wanted a coefficient of some kind but if all of you just wanted a "weight moved" type of judging then weigh ins wouldnt be necessary. I left a lot of room for maneuvering in the Women's Class simply because there is ONE weight class
No problem, although i cant recall exactly what i did lolYou would be surprised just how much time I have to waste.

I'm all for weigh-ins, our body weights vary a great deal. Otherwise, after hobbes and kimm, we all might as well go home I'll submit an entry nonetheless, this competition needs more estrogen.
I don't know where I was when the front squat challenge happened, but next time I am so totally and unequivocally in.
No problem, although i cant recall exactly what i did lol
