I really want to do some cardio but I feel run down from what seems to be a cold virus creeping in.

Honestly it's up to you.
Think about the bigger picture, is missing a single cardio session today going to ruin you and your goals? Will it hurt if its caught up in 2 days time? (Assuming this is a lifestyle )
Personally, if I'm a little sniffly, have a headache or just some minor aches I'll go lift/run. But if I feel like I've been hit by a semi-trailer i.e. heavy eyes, coughing, phlegm, fatigue etc I won't go. Not only for my sake but for the sake of not getting others sick.
