    New Injury

    Hey all.....

To start: I am whole-heartedly obsessed with lifting. I've been going strong for about 1 3/4 years.

I started Wendler 5/3/1 the other day...Just got to deadlifts today. I've always been pretty strict about my form, yet today, after warming up for 4 sets of 135 and 2 at 155, I pulled my low back. I was only deadlifting 255x5 and on the 4th set I dropped halfway up from shooting pain. That's only my 65% of 1RM too.....

Any advice as to why I maybe pulled it?? It now KILLS when I so much as slightly bend over. No pain when I'm not moving though. I had to have a person working there remove the weights and re rack them for me. Also, does anyone know whether it sounds like a muscle vs a disk or something sh*tty like that?? Anyone with similar sounding injuries??

Oh it's only on the right side too.

Wasn't sure where to post this...but chose here because I've been injured before (groin strain) and it sucks. Just got over that, and this is a pretty solid blow to my motivation........................

    Dk.

you won't find a substitute for medical advice on this forum... you should get to a doctor who will be able to give you proper info(or at least refer you to a specialist who can).

Maybe your form was off while lifting?

i had a compression between my l4/5 from deadlifting. I had shooting pains from my lower back(right ass cheek) to my lower right foot(called sciatica, google it). I was referred to a neurologist who sent me for xrays... physiotherapy and no deadlifts followed. Spinal injuries are not something you should wait around on.. seek proper medical care...

ok well update. I was planning on a doctor tonight if it continued however now it's only a small pain. I used a foamroller for a solid 45 minutes and now it's a small small pain. I'm thinking it's a muscle but I'm not going to test it. Just see how it goes..
