My brother is on FIRE right now talking about all this IIFYM stuff! Here's his latest blog post...strong words!
*"BULL**** BODYBUILDING"
If you're calling yourself a "bodybuilder", and you're not willing to a few simple things like have a grocery shopping day, eat certain foods, eat something every few hours, follow a list of foods called a "diet", then maybe you need to find another sport.
Real Bodybuilders have no problem doing any of these things, and if you were to put dog **** on that list of foods called a "diet", a real bodybuilder would figure out a way to eat it.
If you can't do these things, it's ok. You're just not a real bodybuilder, that's all. Call yourself a "recreational body shaper", or "fitness enthusiast". Just stop calling yourself a bodybuilder.
And if you're not willing to do these things, or if they're too uncomfortable for you, that doesn't mean you need to scramble to find scientific research to validate your behavior and then call real Bodybuilders "bull****" because they ARE willing to do these things. It's ok, just don't do them.
And it really doesn't matter if eating every 2 hours raises metabolism or not, does it? Because even if we knew it was the premier way to increase BMR, you still couldn't do it, so lets give that a rest.
I'm glad bodybuilding is difficult. It's the reason I chose it in the first place. It's incredibly challenging and therefore incredibly rewarding. If everyone could do it, it wouldn't be as special to me.
And finally, don't presume to tell me what I should and shouldn't have to do within the context of MY sport, a world you've never stepped foot in and about which you know literally nothing. You're in MY world whenever you talk about "bodybuilding". Act accordingly and show some respect. You're in the presence of someone who can do things you cannot and never will.

I'm sure I'll get razzed for this but I actually like these Posts (Video's and Blogs). They are highly entertaining and IMO eduational. I would love to try to be a body-builder in the sense of just gaining more muscle and having a little bit better physique. I don't acutally want to be on stage I know with my conditon I can never do that but I have a ton of respect for the people who can. My fitness goals revolve around Sled Hockey and being a better player but I would love to Bulk Up and attempt to be Stronger and have more Muscle. Please keep posting Mike. Sorry to anyone I may have offended.

I understand how you could watch the success that Jason Genova has achieved thanks to Andrew's help and you figure you can do the same with your bother, but it just feels more like exploitation in your case.
Berkhan is in that condition all the time and he does it without the "special" supplements. That's the difference between someone with knowledge and, well, you know.

i am trying to find the argument here.
if instruments have still measured your protein synthesis and found that you way is not optimal.
you still refuse?
while there are always room for change in the scientific community.
you need to understand there is more than just a ritualistic practice.
So for the people that allowed these pros to become enhanced. they never stepped on stage but you still utilized their products.
Now I am not saying I dont eat "healthy" foods. I eat my steak, vegetables, milk, protein, chicken etc.
but at the same time measuring instruments are still instruments.
He has to face the fact that the world of bodybuilding is changing as well as sports. the people behind all these athletes may not be just athletes themselves but nerds. straight up nerds who know how the physiological functions of the body work that no experience of lifting can ever surpass.
You are hurting your brother's and your own reputation at this point. There is no point of eating every 2 hours.
He also forgets to consider the fact that to even compete you need to have already great genetics. Enhanced or not. Not everyone can be a true bodybuilder but their are plenty of enthusiasts.
you also cannot put natural people on the same level as enhanced people. maybe for someone enhanced you need to eat every multiple hours but for us normal people it has been proven it has no effectLast edited by Delgadido; 02-08-2013 at 04:22 PM.

Thank you for educating me on my personal freedoms.
Another thing I'm free to do is voice my displeasure when I see something I don't like. Such as a drug abuser claiming dominion over a title, & stating that others may not use said title unless they are willing to impose an eating disorder upon themselves.
