Yes they are doing assisted pullups, its excusable if yo weigh 300lbs and are cutting like these 2 atheletes are doing, but these are the top .001% people who go to gyms.
Also Evan is no Dennis Wolf when it comes to back, just because he is doing assisted chinups does not mean its the best thing to do.TEAM WOLF + TEAM KAI +TEAM CEDRIC + TEAM ROMGLE - TEAM RAMY - TEAM FAIR JUDGING

I think its great.
There is not a chance I could ever do non-assisted dips after doing chest and shoulders, so IMO its great, especially if you work out on your own.
Edit: Yes Rommy, because Centopani is not on Wolfs level, just because he is using assisted pullups. Dont know if I should laugh or cry, please, please tell me the difference between assisted pullups and a machine pulldown..?

Why not use the lat pull down machine?
Whats wrong with the lat pull down machine, its easy to use FullROM with it.
Exactly this, IMO the assisted DIP and assisted PULLUP machines are not really nescessary, its a waste of gym real estate, it would be much better to swap the assisted PULL/DIP machine for a squat rack especially when floor space is limited.
Also dips are a multi joint movement big enough to do as your main exercise, there are many more exercises for tris that you could slot in at the end of the workout.TEAM WOLF + TEAM KAI +TEAM CEDRIC + TEAM ROMGLE - TEAM RAMY - TEAM FAIR JUDGING

Never liked this particular design of pec deck, horrible, horrible machine. The only one I've ever enjoyed using was a LifeFitness model where you held the arms out wide in a true d/b fly style. Will find a pic once I get home from work. Generally though it's dumbbell flys for me over machines, prefer the feeling.
EDIT Not the best pic but the only one I could find tonight

Machines have their place IMO. I use a combination of free weights and machine weights. Hammer Strength is a personal fav. Cybex has some great stuff too. The Hammer Strength Lat Pull Down, the Iso-Lateral Low Row, are almost always a part of my back routine. I'm a big fan of their Hammer Press and Pec Deck/Rear Lateral machines. The only problem is being a taller guy, some machines don't always cater for a full ROM.
generally I prefer to keep machines for Higher Reps. They restrict the body's natural ROM too much to go too heavy on most of them.

My gym recently replaced the good version of this machine with this peice of garbage.
Two main problems with it.
1) It in no way fits the ergonomics of any human being.
2) See those yellow handles for gripping. Well they actually adjust the height of the two bars.I Discovered A Meal Between Breakfast And Brunch

My gym has one of those horrible things too..tried it once out of curiosity and my shoulder joint hurt for weeks.
I also find myself agreeing with Rommy..the normal pec deck is a horrid machine, the outstretched arms version is much better (always a damn wait to use it in the gym for that reason though)
