I keep hearing that muscle will break down and turn into fat. Myth or is there some truth behind it?
Same thing with fast carbs like sugar. It apparently triggers chemical imbalance such as insulin/glucose in your system that starts the breakdown process of muscles. Is it REALLY that bad? Yes or no?

You're going to be confused beyond belief about any topic if you simply read random links on the Internet and have no knowledge whatsoever from which to validate various claims.
Thus, as it appears certain that you have absolutely no knowledge about nutrition, I urge you to spend a little time reading the stickies at the top of the nutrition forum, as that will help you understand some of the really basic stuff and thus it will help you filter the content you read on the Internet relevant to the this domain.

No. The body doesn't turn muscles into fat for any reason. Nor does fat turn into muscle. Two completely different things. You gain fat by eating at a caloric surplus. You lose fat by eating a caloric deficit. You lose muscle if you're not resistant training an/or not eating sufficient calories (protein being the most muscle sparing, carbs coming in second). And the opposite of that is also true.
Do what wonderpug suggested and read the stickies here and in the losing fat forum. Those are a great place to start. If you keep reading this site on a regular basis, you'll eventually run into all kinds of information. As far as wanting to learn more... Bodyrecomposition.com (site run by Lyle McDonald) is a good place to start once you have fully understood the basics. Leangains.com (site run by Martin Berkhan) is also a good place to learn about nutrition (beyond just his IF articles). JasonDB has a youtube channel that's really good (Ice Cream Fitness). Plenty of credible sites with solid nutritional information.
