^^^^^^This because there was a report that he is an explosives expert. I think he probably set explosives on a timer and was long gone when the truck started to burn up. It's too close to home down here....We have friends in Big Bear and at USC where there has been a candle memorial for many days now for the USC safety officer who was killed on Super Sunday.

There seems to be some confusion. Is he holed up in a house, or is he wandering around out in the woods? I've seen both on the net. Local news isn't covering much. We've got our own fugitive in the area, an inmate being delivered to Nevada, stabbed an officer 5 times, escaped from custody and on the loose in North, Texas.

My theory was wrong.........The following if from our local news: ABC7.com
LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Two law enforcement officers are being airlifted to a local hospital with unknown injuries after a shootout in the Big Bear area with a suspect believed to be Chris Dorner.
Authorities say deputies working the Big Bear area in their search for Dorner responded to the 1200 block of Club View Drive for a reported stolen vehicle by a man matching Dorner's description. Deputies immediately began a search of the area.
The vehicle was located at Highway 38 and Glass Road a short time later. The suspect fled into the forest on foot and barricaded himself inside a cabin. There was an exchange of gunfire between law enforcement and the suspect, wounding two officers.
It is believed the suspect has barricaded himself in a cabin. It is unclear if there is anyone else in the cabin with him. Numerous law enforcement officers have responded to the area. Expect closures on highways 38, 330 and 18 due to the investigation.
