    Is this okay for cutting?

I have a pretty messed up leg and I can't seem to squat or do a really heavy movement. I want to take a break and see if it heals on its own, but I also feel like cutting now. So i've been thinking of doing 100+ pushups routine 3 times a week in order to keep my muscle mass and also sprinting everyday. Would the pushup routine be a nice substitute instead of barbell exercises?

Pushups and barbell exercises are not really comparable, yea pushups are a great tool and can help build some strength and lot of endurance but won't build/strengthen your muscles like free weights... if the injury is really bad do what you can but that's up to your discretion and how your body feels, don't want to injure it further

Edit: I know Herschel Walker (former NFL running back) does something like 500-1000 pushups everyday and he's strong as a horse at almost 50 -- not everyone responds the same to certain exercises

If you want to cut eat 500 calories below your maint.
Also, to keep most muscle mass, you should do more than just pushups.

What about pushups and pullups(overhand)? + the routine and sprinting of course.
