    My benchpress doesnt seem effective

    Hi guys,
So im on my 2nd week of weight training and i like it. But my bench press isnt efrective at all because i dont feel anything in my chest afterwards or during the exercise. My arms get tired And fail me and my chest doesnt even feel a thing. I dont bench much compared to my weight at all (70-80 lbs). I know it sucks. But since my arms seem to be wweaker than my chest, does that mean the bench press wont be very effective until i strengthen my arms more? I want to increase the weight but my arms give out before getting far. When i do cable flyes, my chest feels it during and the next day after doing it.
So do i have to strengthen my arms more to increase my brench? Any tips to make it more effective?

    Thanks

All about form really. After I fixed my form, I started feeling way more on my chest.

Btw, you don't have to lift super high weights for you to deem it heavy. What's heavy for you is good enough. Can't compare other people with your own strength.

If you don't feel your chest during the bench press is because you're using way more your shoulders and your triceps (meaning that your arms are stronger than your chest in this case).

Like they said form is probably mostly the reason why. I say also that remember it's just your second week. And yes as other body parts grow your bench will increase as well. Have you tried dumb bells yet? Maybe try a pre exhaust such as a few sets of flys before you move on to bench if your concerned about feeling it in your chest. I really wouldn't recommend pre exhaust every chest work out before you bench if your wanting to gain size because you won't have your full power, but maybe every great now and again to help you get that burn your looking for.
