Flat footed + Calf Exercises = pain

Has anyone else experienced this, or how to correct the issue? Whenever I try doing calf exercises, I find that the bottom of my foot aches like none other. Light weights and high reps allows me to do more before it starts to hurt, but I'm trying to build mass. Heavy weights destroys the bottom of my foot. Any tips or help? Thanks!

Please explain how to train feet please? I never realized I should be training feet at all. What exercises could I even do for that? And how does cushioning affect my foot pain? Sorry just really curious of your answer...

start by walking barefoot for a month or two. then start lightly run barefoot.
there are many minimalist shoes on the market with no cushioning you can purchase.
cushioning is like doing a bench press with someone lifting your barbell, you are not doing the work. feet muscles get weak when they dont get to used.

Now I've heard both sides.. Some say use less shoe sole, some say buy new ones with more support. Personally I didnt end up changing my footwear at all, I just did a lot of soft tissue work with a tennis ball and golf ball and that seemed to do the trick after a couple workouts

Review your technique to ensure you are applying pressure through the ball of your foot and not rising up on your toes. Your metatarsal break should be aligned with the step. See the YouTube video called moment arm exercise for calves by Bill De Simone. If that doesn't work consider doing the exercise from the floor not a step and again apply pressure through the balls of your feet not toes.
