Do you mix milk or water with your whey?

Milk usually gives a better/creamier taste and consistency, and more calories and protein.

Water usually gives less of a 'bold' flavor to the protein, is thinner, and is calorie free.

There are no real pros and cons - that is based on individual preference and needs. I prefer milk, or almond milk.

Depends on your macros and personal taste preference.

Personally I enjoy shakes with milk more, but water is more convenient (and calorie friendly).
Almond milk is a great alternative if you enjoy milk but want to cut back a bit.

That really is a great option, especially for those who enjoy thicker shakes but are cutting and cannot afford the extra calories. You can actually get almond milk that has only 30 calories per 8 ounces.

That's the kind I get too, can hardly notice a difference between that and regular milk. And when making sludge, you get all the creaminess of milk, yet with minuscule calories since you use only a few ounces of liquid. It's great stuff.

I'm in the weight loss process right now so I'm calorie conscious. Therefore, I tend to use water about 80% of the time. But it's generally all preference

Okay so it really depends because If i'm cutting I prefer to have my calories somewhere else and I drink it with water. If i'm bulking up, then I need use milk.
As far as taste I like to go half/half. Milk alone makes it too sweet/thick and water makes it too watery/thin.

I go with milk, it makes it taste better imo but haven't tried my current brand with water yet.

Thanks for the almond milk suggestion though Luke, I might go with that when cutting.

Thanks guys. I obviosuly like the taste better with milk but could do without the added calories. I'm def going to try the almond milk.

Sort of on topic....I drink a lot of water throughout the day...is the nutritional value in coconut water worth the added cost? It tastes like crap imo, but i've had worse...

I normally like to have a big shake I can graze on for a while (at least 16oz), so I do half milk, half almond milk. Helps keep the calories a bit lower, but gives me a big, thick shake (hm..that sounds a little wrong...)

I actually mix water and milk. 8 oz skim milk and 4 oz water for 2 scoops of various protein powders always gives me a nice consistency and flavor richness.

Water all the time, I dislike the milk shake consistency and want my drinks to be thinner. (Usually 16 oz water for 2 scoops)
