Keto for civilians (ie non fitness people)

A lot of doctors recommend Keto for overweight people, these are the random uneducated people who don't go to gyms and don't know much about nutrition. But say their Calories are counted and they go on keto. What's the recommended cycle? Obviously we can do this forever, but is there a recommendation for cycling and when to carb load for ordinary folks?

Someone who isn't lifting? I don't see any need to refeed. If they're well adapted to keto and don't slip in and out, I reckon they can ride it a long time down to their eventual skinny fat state without many issues.
