first time lifting, 4 week progress

    never lifted weights before

progress after doing 4 weeks of clean bulking. gained about 3 pounds.

i can tell my bicep is bigger, but part of that is the angle of my arm i think. i don't really see much else different, are these results typical or should i be seeing bigger visual gains after 4 weeks?

i'll do another one at weeks 8 and 12, hopefully a little more progress will be visible then

Bro, this aint no race, and you can't just expect massive results in 4 weeks. Keep at it, do your stuff proper, nutrition down and keep form correct, don't try to do more weights than you can handle to get "big".

    peace!

YOU may notice physical changes in the first month or so. Body composition changing slightly as it's adapting to exercises etc. But other people, generally not so much mate. Look at the first four weeks or so at least as the time when your body should be acclimatizing to exercise and diet, rather than it should be making any sort of significant gains.

However, yes, your bicep has got a bit of a peak too it now. Keep it up. Any sort of fitness pursuit is a marathon, not a sprint.

3lbs and a noticble gain in your bicep is fine for 4 weeks, wait till 12 weeks then compare the before and after pics when you have about 9-10 lbs extra, just keep consistent its worth sticking with, everyone gym goer at some point goes through a little phase of feeling like the progress they are making isn't enough, but that wears off pretty quick when you realise you look way better than before and every few weeks you consistently go, means you are improving all the time!

Muscle building takes time, and initial physical response may be visible in 4 weeks but the real differences come in months/years. Keep pressing on and good luck!
