I just turned 17 in december and am only 5 foot 2. I started working out a month ago in hope that I'll grow taller somehow as well as jogging/running. I feeeeel that I can grow taller if you know what I mean and I believe in myself. It sucks that I can easily control and change other aspects of my life other except for my height. Any tips on how to grow taller at this age or is it too late? By the way my uncle shot up 2 inches when he turned 20. Thanks.

It's genetic, you may of just inherited a "short" gene. Who knows, maybe you'll hit a spurt soon, men are supposed to stop growing at around 21 so you may just be late.
You cannot really tell but parents height are a big contributing factor. Run your parents heights and your age, height and weight through this calculator: www .calculator.net/height-calculator.html and see what it says, it obviously isn't going to be 100% accurate but it may give you some idea.Last edited by Shibbyy; 02-04-2013 at 11:41 AM.

Your maximum height is genetics.
Your actual height is determined by FOOD. This is why Asians were so incredibly short compared to everyone else in the second millennium; their diet was much worse than that of Europeans. As their diet improved as the world became modernized, they started increasing in average height.

You can try to stretch in the morning but probably won't do anything. You still have like 4 years left where you could potentially grow. My dad is 6 4 and my mom is 5 9, so I have good tall genetics... thing is, my dad was like 5 6 until he was around 19 and then he shot up in height from 19-21... maybe you'll get lucky.

moms 4,9 dads 5,7 im 5,8 and im only 16, EAT, a LOT also eat a load of pistachios and almonds, any mono or poly healthy fats stimulate growth hormone from what ive heard and read, and all I eat is nuts + milk I have every day for around a year now and grew around 2 inches, dont know if its cause of that, but eating a lot helps, DONT go on any diets, it could stunt your growth even more, If I were you I wouldn't squat for a while also, I dont squat or deadlift anyways cause my lower back messed up and I still get tremendous gains. anyways best of luck bro I used to be your height! I used to blame my parents all the time! there is some things you can do, Eat a lot as I said mono and poly fats, Wear nike athletic shoes and go to the chiropractor they can stretch your spine and sometimes help you gain a inch or two so that being said your 5,2 5,4 with nikes or 5,3 then 5,5 5,6 with going to the chiropractor dont forget to eat like a monster, remember clean foods and healthy fats, besides, not all girls like tall guys, its really not that big of a deal mate, It would be if you were 4,10 your fine. oh yeah my bro's 5,4 and can throw me around like a rag doll, doesn't even workout, genetics mate.
