    Weight Stack Home Gym?

Alright, so I'm planning on spending some money on a weight stack home gym, and the ones around $400 or so only include 150lbs, and the exceptions are the 200lb ones that don't have any reviews by other customers (on amazon). Whichever one I choose, are weight stacks in this weight range beneficial? A little info on my bodybuilding prowess, which is lucky if it reaches mediocre range: I can do bicep curls in the 80lb range. I've strayed away from the bench press because I have no one to spot me. I guess 150lb would be an improvement from where I'm currently at, except I'm wondering if the 70 pounds would create a very sizeable difference in my physique. I guess I don't want to waste money if I plateau very quickly.

A power rack will allow you to bench press and squat safely without the need for a human spotter. See: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=126624063

Machines of this type, in this price/weight range, are mostly poorly designed and herky-jerky in operation. Subsequently, they don't encourage any confidence in their use, produce little/no results in mass strength increase, and wind up as clothes racks.

That's why so many of these such machines wind up on craigslist or the classifieds in your local newspaper; they're difficult to even just give away.

I'd suggest you either consider getting some different type of home equipment or a gym membership.
    No brain, no gain.

Thanks to KBKB's post, I'm seriously considering getting a power rack. Those are fairly expensive in themselves, so I'm wondering where I can get a 200lb+ weight set for relatively cheap. Suggestions?

How's the used market (craigslist) in your area?
