I can't seem to get anywhere!

    I don't know anymore!
I tried! I dieted, I lifted and probably try to get some rest.
But lets be honest here no one can perfect all of this in a consistent basis right?
I just saw this dude whom I saw a year before and the dude got huge!
    Am I jealous? NO!
But it does say to me that I can't do it!!!!
I mean I tried! I can go at it over and over and over!!!
I'm measuring crap over and over!!! Yes I lost the weight!!!
But dear God I don't think I'm getting muscular or stronger or better!!!
I know I get it! If I can't eat an elephant a day! And If I can't lift huge chunk of weight in PERFECT FORM THEN I'M SCREWED!
YOU can blame everything that's on the top of my head right now. But I can't also tell you that I'm not trying my best!!!
Is it just possible that I don't have enough test cause there most be a reason!!!
I can't for the life of me improve!!! I tried getting fat and I tried caloricly torture myself! The only difference was the amount of fat I got not of how much muscle or strength I've been gaining!!!

I try lol! I track my macros as much as I can, although sometimes I don't have the time for it. I was able to track things easy when I was trying to lose the weight. But now that I'm bulking I can't seem to keep track. All I know is that I'm drinking lots of milk!
Again at one point I did get fat and there wasn't much muscle showing when I diet back! Worst was whether I was fat or thin I wasn't really getting strong or more muscular I think that's my point!!!
I'm aiming for a 2000 cal day but most of the time I usually just aiming to reach my protein requirements. But almost always on my 165 grams day!
I'll agree that I'm not reaching 2000 cal but I am reaching my protein macros!
I don't even think most of the people at the gym know what the hell macros are!!!

No offense but you have a lot to learn. Maintenance?? Read the nutrition stickies. 2,000 cals is not enough for everybody. Different body weights and activity levels require different amounts of cals. You can read them if you want, but if you don't your gonna be scratching your head in another 4 years wondering why nothing has changed

Maintinance calories are what your body burns each day doing just nothing at all except exsisting. You need to eat 500ish over that from what ive read around here and other places.

Your going to continue to fail if you dont stay in a consistent surplus, and train consistently. Katch-Mcardle formula would put you at a BMR at 144 lbs and 20% body fat at BMR 1500. With low activity and 3 training bouts a week 2075 would be about your break even point at TDEE. At a moderate activity level you would use approximately 2400 calories.

Try consuming 2400 calories 140 g protein, 70 g fats, and the rest in any combination of protein, carbs, and fats you prefer. If you dont gain any weight after 3 weeks go up 150 calories, train consistently. Repeat upping the calories if gains stall.

Estimators only go so far at defining TDEE, you have to be consistent and get into a state of gains with reasonable added fat gains. It takes consistency.

i think you should quit worrying so much, stay positive, eat like a MAN and train like a BEAST

You repeat about how you try so hard. Sounds like you think too hard to me.

I donno, OP. You say you've been lifting for four years, but you don't know what "maintenance" means? Something tells me you started four years ago, but have been on-and-off with the actually lifting and nutrition.

I mean let face it! In the REAL WORLD where you have a long hour work period. I doubt ANYONE CAN DO THIS! 6-7 meals a day and a boat load of food to prepare on a daily basis! OK I get some smart ass here is going to reply BUT YOU DON'T TO EAT 6-7 meals a day!!! TO which I say tried gobbling 3000 cal in one or two sitting for sure you won't be able to finish it halfway through! Oh yeah preparing all of this will be so easy as well right?

OH so if I don't know maintenance does that mean I didn't use a calorie counter on my iphone? Does that I mean didn't lift weight at 3x a week? NO! HELL NO! Was everything perfect NO!!! CAUSE I WAS DOING EVERYTHING BY MYSELF!

The mere fact that you posted a thread on this forum shows to me that you do not want to give up. There is still hope! Lifting can be a hobby but transforming your body is a lifestyle. My gym buddy is my roommate and we have been lifting together for 5 years now. Only recently (since I graduated college) have we taken lifting serious and changing our lifestyle. (Me more so than him since he has 5-7% bf).

Try to get a gym buddy. Now, I am not sure how to ask someone to work out with you. I am going to have to learn how to since I will be moving in August. Maybe another user can shed light on how to find/ask someone to be your gym buddy.

As far as getting nowhere, I have experience with that. It is frustrating to lift the same amount week after week. Changing up the routine will shock the muscle. I think someone mentioned that already but it worked for me so why not repeat it.

Overall, OP, even if your results have slowed down, you are still doing something and staying healthy. Which is more than most can say. Keep it up. Battle through the doubt.

OH I get that its a hobby! But this dude in the gym keep on bragging on how great he is! And I hate him! Does it motivate me to be better absolutely!
But sadly in this game I lose every time because its a GENETICS game! I don't wanna feel like this all day! I don't have alot of free time! I only have 5 hrs of free time. I can't prepare my food, I can't prep my workouts, I can't perfect my forms and I certainly don't have the genetics to give me any form of edge!
Sure I sometimes waste my time on surfing the net or watching tv shows. Its the few hours of my life that's TRULY IS MINE! I have no cooking skills what's so ever and I don't wanna frustrate myself further!

I have one he rarely want to go the gym. And besides I'm in Asia I'll never find a gym buddy here!

Oh yeah its always been slow! It has never been at any point FAST!!! I mean 4 years is 4 years! I don't know about the healthy part honestly!
Cause this always the problem here! I can forge on but how is the most consistently asked question!
Is it always because your diet is poor? People assume TOO MUCH!!!
I can tell you that I'M THE ONLY IN THE GYM THAT DOES CALORIE COUNTING! GUESS WHAT? I'm ONE OF THE TINIEST!!!
If calorie counting is SOO effective why are there SO MUCH skinny unable to achieve their physiques? Go ahead look at the skinny thread! VERY VERY FEW actually get there!

Dude you are f'n pathetic. Your full of excuses. Multiple people have gotten on here to try and help you but it's excuse after excuse. Your lazy and don't want it bad enough. The guy in the gym you hate is getting results because he sticks with it and works hard. If all you are going to do is make excuses then stay off here

No what makes you lazy is the fact you refuse to read and learn. You need to read the nutrition stickies and figure out what everybody has been telling you. Your not the only one here who has a full time job an a busy schedule. Yet you keep using that as excuses.

I know what those are! Seriously! Its increasing calories and hoping to gain weight its that SIMPLE!!! I get that! If I don't gain that supposed weight I'm should increase it! You think I'm not trying?
My only question is that whether its TRULY effective? I did lose weight and I did gain weight. The problem is that I don't really gain alot strength or muscle! Isn't valid argument?
I have done calorie counting! I have lost the weight using it.
Its actually my first time trying to bulk using the calorie counting! Cause back then I just kept eating and got fat. But that should have gained strength at that point. But NO!

Eat more, lift harder and sleep. Then repeat. Then after you've gained muscle ( and some fat that comes with it ) then you cut to lose fat and the muscle will show. You don't have to eat 6-7 times a day. All that matters is getting your macros in. Only eat when your hungry. But you've got to put the work in

I think you should eat 5-6 times a day. I feel that it could get me fat but its the only plausible way for me to consume 2500+ calories. I have tested it out! I don't have a strong stomach that can witstand huge food portions. I'm not that type that gets hungry easily!

Well I don't know what to tell ya then. Without eating enough cals you won't gain muscle. Maybe take up frisbee golf that doesn't require muscle

Ease your way up to 3,000. Making a jump of 1,000 cals is gonna be tough. Add 300 every 2 weeks til you can get used to eating more

nope your diet and training is just more than likely rubbish. People are so quick to blame genetics do you think every person that is strong and a decent size has amazing genetics? no they just worked hard.
