I just checked the indisputable facts and turns out Lesnar was in fact a UFC HW champion and did in fact defend his title twice. He was also ranked number #5 on Sherdog when Overeem fought him. Werdum was ranked #3 on Sherdog when Overeem beat him. Which would make them unquestionably top ten fights.

As for the rest it of it, it isn't because I said so.. Me and Casshern agreed to certain standards and I applied them across the board. You're not a big reader of Plato are you?

Hang on a minute, have you watched his fight with Kongo? He didn't take repeated powershots like Overated but he got dropped at least twice by jabs. Cain doesn't have a great chin.

Not even done watching the fight, Cain did get rocked twice by some nice jabs by kongo. But if anything, it shows how great of a chin Cain actually has. The first time kongo rocked him, Cain responded with a successful take down within SECONDS. Cain only got dropped from the second time kongo rocked him, not the first time. Cain got dropped once, and followed both times getting rocked by taking Kongo down to the ground.

Overeem is an established HW who beat Werdum who was established in the UFC and Lesnar who was established in the UFC. That's plenty for a title shot. If Cormier beats Mir and Cain is not the champion he may very well get a title shot and they'll be completely right to do so. When an established fighter, especially a champion of an absorbed organization, is brought over they don't start from the bottom of the UFC. It's the same sport regardless of where it's fought.

Off the top of my head here are some established MMA stars who didn't need more than 3 fights for a title shot.

Jake Shields - 1 fight.
Anderson Silva - 1 fight.
Dan Henderson - 0 fights. 2 Title Shots.
Rampage Jackson - 1 fight.
Gilbert Melendez - 0 fights.
Big Nog - 1 fight.
