What I found worked for me (upon first finding this site) was simply reading and lurking and training according to information found on this site before I even made an account, and then continuing to use the forum without posting on it so that I had a good sense of the culture of the board as well as the basics of nutrition and lifting. Then, when I did begin posting a bit, I had a better sense of what had already been asked and where to find the information that is out there. I also went ahead and experimented by myself a bit, since most of my bodybuilding knowledge was confined to 1980s "Muscle and Fitness" magazines.

There are sections of the board that I don't bother with. Again, do some reading/lurking and it will give you a better sense of things.

Try the search function -- most questions have already been asked. Welcome to the site and best of luck in your training.
