Need opinions

I have a job opportunity that my boss already brought up to me which will let me make bank. It makes him have to fire a guy for me to move in though. The guy is always late and is a jerk off when it comes time to split the cash. He always takes a huge chunk and gives the other two people scraps. But I have worked with him and know him really well for 7 years. What would you do?
