Byredo First Impressions

Accord Oud: Starts off with a rum note and blackberry, very delicious smelling. You get the oud in the background and it all blends very well together. The oud comes in a bit more after around 15 min and becomes the focus. This one may have some nice development. Overall I am not the biggest fan of oud, seems sometimes I like it and other times I do not. In this one I am on the fence, I could see wearing this one but just not enough to justify a decant.


Seven Veils: was not sure what to think when I saw the notes on this one as it had a carrot note but it turns out its amazing. This one smells like a lightly spiced carrot cake with vanilla icing. It does not come across too sweet in my opinion, but I am a gourmond lover so I may be biased. Solid fragrance but my guess is it will stay pretty much the same during the life of the scent. Pulp: Very sweet fruity mix of fig, apple, black current. This one is actually a little much for me because of the sweetness. Seven Veils has spice that really grounds it from being an all food smell but this one does not seem to have that yet. It smells like a fruit bowl with sugar poured all over it. Not a fan of this one so far. I could see a woman pulling this one off and I think the sample will be going to my girl for that reason.






Overall I am pretty impressed with these samples, they are all unique and I have yet to smell anything that I could directly compare them too. That is the part I love about sampling, nothing is worse than smelling a bunch of frags from various houses and they all smell similar.... ex Rose/Oud combos lol

So my sample of Guerlain L'Eau Boisee arrived this morning.



Oh my days, I need this scent in my life. I'm no expert at describing these things, so Ill take an excerpt from the site the image is linked from and add my own thoughts.

"The construction of Guerlain Homme L’Eau Boisée opens on a blend of citrus and spicy accords, followed in a period of approximately 20 minutes by an unmistakable heart that combines geranium, mint, mojito and rum accord. The final part is reserved to the introduction of Indian vetiver, juxtaposed with accord of white musk."

To me, its got a sweet start, but then once its dried down smells so "refreshing" and light, I find myself constantly smelling my wrists.

It's projection on me is much better than my other scents, bar GIT, which is beastly on me. I only dabbed the sample on the left wrist then dabbed the right onto that, and I keep getting moments where it really stands out.

Very impressed, payday I shall be purchasing!

Also got a women's perfume sample with it, but Ill be handing that to the lady when she gets home later.

Would you describe the p03 as more fresh and lemony like the x02 i bought from you, or more smooth and earthy? My 10/10 batch is smooth/earthy (remember i complained about the opening smelling like dirt n clovers and then it transformed my life forever in the heart). The x02 is very fresh green and lemony, not earthy. Better projection and longevity tho and hngggg opening.

Ill prob get 10mL's from u anyway. Or 50mL's to give to my friend actually. He has no niche frags.

When will u split it? I dont want to miss out.

been running to the mailbox every day all excited & sh*t, every decant I have coming my way is exciting but the two I have on the way right now (Dior Ambre Nuit from TP and DHI from Ganja) are two that I have really wanted to try for a while now. I'm hoping today will be the day for the DHI and maybe Ambre Nuit early next week.


on another note, I'm kind of regretting picking up 100ml of Pure Shot. It's a very good scent but it will take me a lifetime to use it all up when I have so many other summer scents already. Might look into selling it.
