Vitor failed drug test?
Rumours all over the net and Bisping just tweeted he's heard the same.
Discuss.

To clarify. Vitor was in TRT. Not a rumor. Fact. Was it approved? I'm trying to find out.
FrontRowBrian ********@FrontRowBrian
Latest on rumor... Vitor Belfort definitely used TRT for the Bisping fight. Whether he was granted approval by UFC, I do not know right now

Just land in Vegas. Rumors of a HUGE drug test failure. Not a shock. Working on details. U figure it out.

Even if Vitor was granted approval for TRT, it should still be possible to fail a drug test. His levels still need to be within a certain range.

Man, I've been a fan of Vitor's for many years....If he was on TRT and didn't get it approved? Thats just stupid.
Still waiting to see anything other than rumors on this on. I think there is only one other site (other than here) saying anything about it.

How do pro athletes who know when they're going to test not know how to not get caught by now?

It blows my mind that dudes are still doing this kind of sh*t, just hoping they don't get caught.

It seems like a 1 year suspension (which I believe is the usual punishment ?) isn't enough to detour them, if they want it to change they are going to have to have to find a consequence that will make the fighters not even want to risk it.
Also, and I could be wrong about this but it seems like the guys that get caught are the ones who have "made it" (I.e Chael, Reem) in the sport already and who can afford to take the year off not the guys who are still trying to make a name for themselves and have to fight as much as they can to make a living.

Ariel Helwani just tweeted that the Brazilian Athletic commission just shot down those rumors saying that results aren't back yet.
I'm guessing people are feeling the results are taking a long time to come back and are just making assumptions this is why.

they already try and make the tests very easy to pass -and allow you to legally use trt at a higher level then you could produce naturally not to mention test tends to fall off when dieting hard to make weight which trt user would have to worry about-yet still athletes try to push that further and take more closer to fight day
That said sounds like bisbing is just mad he got dominated

I can just picture Overeem a week before the fight saying "Trust me bro you'll be fine".
Also if he does get busted again can we assume Dana will give him the Josh Barnett treatment or does breaking into the Brazilian market override that?

He did get dominated but wouldn't you be mad if you lost to a drug cheat? Assuming the rumours prove true which they haven't been as yet!

Regardless of whether or not he passed the drug test, he has been juicing for over 15 years now. No one should be surprised.

Is this even going result in a ban? Athletic comissions aren't involved in Brazil shows, are they? I'm guessing it's UFC testing.

Bisping Weidman for #1 contender.
Or a Bisping Rashad fight.

Off the top of my head, I don't recall if the UFC has ever imposed a ban if someone pisses hot over seas (part of me wants to say they have)....but the UFC, in an attempt to say in the good graces of ACs, test and work to carry over the same sanctioning rules when not in the states.

yes they do. They have done it before. Like you said, they do it in order to appeal to the other AC's such as the NSAC, which has a lot of influence over the,

I'm on the fence of a fighter being allowed to fight if he/she is receiving "Medical Treatment." IF a person is on HRT, he can easily cheat the system.

Shows how much you know, Bisping never made any excuses.. He ever said after the fight he had a great camp and Belfort was the better man on the night.. He has obviously heard about this rumour and has tweeted about it, how does that make an excuse? He never has excuses like all the American fighters..

This is the typical protocol. They honor the dude in the cage and then a week or so later start release interviews with the 'reason's they lost'. It's not just Bisping... it's pretty common practice.
Weidman or Rashad for 185 number 1. I think being a previous champ in another weight class and remaining at the top of that division is enough to scoot you to the front of the line if the match up is good.

If you have a medical condition serious enough to need HRT than you have no place in high level athletics.

The test levels between two 20 year olds could be significantly different. Age is an excuse for HRT not a legitimate reason.

I guess that's why it is a young man's sport.

This isn't a shock at all really. People were saying before the fight (presser, weigh-ins) that Vitor was on something. You would think he would learn as he has been busted in the past! Anyone remember when Sherk had elevated test levels? He vehemently denied it and allegedly took a lie detector test, what was the final verdict on that? I know he served his ban etc

I don't think anyone doubts he is on, but getting caught again would be surreal.
