    Question!

I know that losing weight comes down to calories in< calories burnt but how do I know how many calories I burnt during a lifting workout?

You do burn calories by lifting, but don't factor it into your diet plans. Your main method of creating a deficit should be through eating a restricted number of calories; the energy you burn lifting is a bonus. Get your diet in check and don't bother trying to factor in lifting to the calculations; if you end up losing weight too fast you can increase the calories.

Look up McArdle, Katch & Katch energy expenditure. This is the most accurate way to track your expenditure. But do bare in mind it is very hard because every single human being is different.

Keep up the good work and do some reading

It is hard to determine, but I actually don't think about calories that much. I just know I have to eat calories because I'm busting my ass working out twice a day. What source the calories is coming from really matter though. Protein for repair, carbs/low-fat for energy.

The best thing to do is keep a consistent activity level(as best you can) throughout the week and not worry about the amount burned. Just pick a calorie level and adjust based on weight lost or gained.
