I know that losing weight comes down to calories in< calories burnt but how do I know how many calories I burnt during a lifting workout?

You do burn calories by lifting, but don't factor it into your diet plans. Your main method of creating a deficit should be through eating a restricted number of calories; the energy you burn lifting is a bonus. Get your diet in check and don't bother trying to factor in lifting to the calculations; if you end up losing weight too fast you can increase the calories.
