    How many Cals?

Hey guys and gals, I was wondering if you could help me out. I'm just starting out on my weight loss journey and was wondering if you guys could help me out. My weight is 370 lbs and i'm 5'11 I want to know what is a good number to have as far as daliy calories are concerned. Would taking in only 2300 calories be a good for weight loss? thanks guys

You could probably get away with eating more than that. I would eat at 3k, lift weights, keep your protein high and watch the scale drop. When it slows down, start lowering your calories.

Depends on your daily activity level. Get the number from different TDEE calculators, find an average and deduct 500kcal for the win and sixpack

Thanks for the help guys. I think I will start out with 2300 cals a day and see if that gives me a good rate of weight loss.

At 370 you can afford to have a steeper deficit, but if you are losing say 4-5lbs a week at that level don't be afraid to up the calories a little. I would rather see your weightloss slow down a little rather than you burning out and going on a binge or something.

I agree. Give it a shot and see how things go. It's all expermintation. You'll eventually find your sweet spot (no pun intended).
