Hey everyone,
I'm going on my first bulk, although I've been weight training for about 2 yrs. I had been mostly on a cutting diet these past 2 yrs as I tried to get rid of all fat before bulking. I think I went a little overboard. Right now I'm 5'9 and 133.6 lbs. I just completed my first week on a bulk diet and went from 132 to 133.6. I've done some research and most say that if you gained over 0.5-1 lb in one week you are gaining too much fat. I was on a 1900 calorie diet at 45% protein/35% carb/20% fat. For my bulk diet I've gone up to 2150 calories at a 40p/40c/20f split. Here is my diet:
morning/pre workout: pb pure protein bar (200 cals)
pre-workout: 1MR: 6 cals
post workout supplement: 1 scoop whey protein, 1 scoop of creatine, 2 oz. of welch 100% grape juice (185 cals)
post workout meal: oatmeal, half banana, 9 oz soy milk, 1 scoop whey protein (516 cals)
lunch 1: 3 oz. spinach, two slices of orowheat whole wheat bread, 1 slice of american cheese, 6 oz servings of canned tuna in water (360 cals)
lunch 2: 3 oz. spinach two slices of orowheat whole wheat bread, 1 slice american cheese, 6 oz. chicken breast (360 cals)
Dinner: 6 oz. chicken breast, 4 oz. canned tuna in water, 3 oz. spinach, 5 oz. carrots (328 cals)
Late nigh Snack: 7 oz. of soy milk, 1 scoop whey protein (200 cals)
Totals: 2145 calories (223g carbs, 221g protein, 44 g. fat) (41% carbs/ 41% protein/ 18% fat)
Should I cut back the calories since I gained 1.6 pounds in a week or should I give it more time?
Thanks
