Five months, three weeks out
I wanted to compete in (and win if possible) a Junior bodybuilding competition before having to try and compete at an Open level as I'm thinking my best chance will be against those of the same age as myslf, I'm not naive enough to think I'll win I just don't want to humiliate myself. The picture below (my current profile picture) is of me performing the mandatory poses (with little effort but to get a rough idea of how I'm looking) after about two months away from the gym because of ill health. From tomorrow I'm going to start up a new workout/diet plan to get me back to standard, I just wanted to get some pointers on what people think is achievable in just under six months.

In my opinion, you are going to need to add some good mass and then cut down to at least 9% to get you ready for any type of competition. 6 months is a gonna be tough. Not saying it's impossible, but you will have to be 100% dedicated with lifting and nutrition. I would shoot for entering in a competition in a year or so. I was wanting to do an amateur comp as well, but i now realize I got a good ways to go. Best of luck either way!

As long as I don't suffer with health issues my dedication isn't an issue, I spent the best part of a year eating the same structured diet day in, day out and kept to a structured programme. I have no social life, I don't drink, I bed down early etc
My only issues are with my mental and physical health.

This video was taken during and after my gym work today, it should hopefully give a better idea of my physique although I didn't have the energy to push through the full workout.

I'm gonna stick by what I said after checking out the video. Don't think you will be ready to compete in 6 months. I would give 100% for a year and see where you are at. Having said that, I would love to be wrong. Go heavy and hard and make it happen!

9% for a competition, not even once
If your natty and entering a natural competition then I say go for it. But check out last years posing videos to get an idea of the competition, it can vary from being humbling to being laughable. The untested bodybuilding comp in my city is a joke, a few hard working naturals could challenge the competitors

There may be people that have more talent than you, but there's no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do.
I rep back you cheeky kunts

I agree, that's why I said "to get you ready"

I think he meant 9% for the preparation, I was wanting to get to around that sort of percentage to lean bulk so that I wouldn't have too mch of a challenge cutting down from a 'chubby' physique plus with past experience I've found that I gain easier when my body fat is low.
I wanted to compete in the BNBF which is a tested competition, some people have said that all I really need to focus on is coming in shredded and dry as bone but I don't want that to lead to me becoming skeletal. If I left it a year it'd mean jumping category but I wanted to get at least three years training before competing in the Open.
