I am in 5X5, and this is a deload week, and I worked out today.
But I want to start Monday next week, so planning ot take Sat/Sun off.

So I plan to go tomorrow, and work on the forms of my dead lifts and power cleans.
Maybe I will do some Bicep work while I am at it.

Monday I have Squat (250 lbs), Bench (170) and Row (155)

Been 8 days sice my last workout, so called gym at the hotel sucked as all it had was a treadmill, elliptical, and a bike. Anyways back to the grindstone today, will see how weak I feel. Squats, bench and rows are the order for today.

Tomorrow is international chest day so I'll be training chest/shoulders (push day). I've been squatting, deadlifting, training abs, bicep curling, and tricep pressing every day that I train (MWF) so the only thing that really changes is the push/pull/legs. I've been cutting since March (down more than 30 lbs) so nothing is getting stronger but mirrors are fun.

Why does this thread keep dying?
"It doesn't matter what exercise you do, but man was made to move, to eat sparingly, to work hard and to screw as much as he can manage. Do all that, and you will look as good as your genes will let you, be content as the arseholes around you will allow, and maybe get a few screws. The particular virtues of weight training are in the discipline it brings to both mind and body, and, if you do it right, it will make you look good naked and do well what you got your clothes off to do." I'm on a upper lower split and it's also a push pull. Tomorrow upper body. I have 3 different routines I run for both upper and lower body. Each compound movement has a day where I do sets of 5, sets of 8 and sets of 12. Then I use the other compound moves as assistance work. Since starting this routine I've put 40LBS on my working bench press. I don't do 1rep maxes I just worry about my working weights at this time

My 5 day for bench I'm going to try a Wendlers style pyramid
    Upper a
    Bench sets of 5
    OHP sets of 8
    Incline sets of 12

    Upper B
    OHP sets of 5
    Incline sets of 8
    Bench Press sets of 12

    Upper C
    Incline sets of 5
    Bench sets of 8
    OHP sets of 12

I put a pull move between each push. I track the weights for each rep range and I adjust when I hit my sets and reps for that day. All of my pull moves are sets of 8 to 12 rep

    Lower A
    Squats sets of 15

    Lower B
    Squats Sets of 5
    DL sets of 5

    Lower C
    Squats sets of 8

Unfortunately I have to skip squats for a while. I had sprained my right knee a few months back and I thought it was getting better but I sprained it again last week and it will be while before I see a squat rack.

I'm on a 531 / bbb schedule, just did Squats yesterday, so that's one cycle complete. Legs a little soar today and happy to take a day's rest. I had a few family issues to sort out so I missed a day from last week's schedule.
I don't like to train on a Sunday, especially squats.

Back in my garage tomorrow for Chest and triceps. I'm on week two of the current cycle, I restarted my last cycle with new figures. As my form improves, I'm having to re-work my figures. My DL's are up but my squat figures are down...but parallel. Last night I lifted 95kgs for 7 reps, ORM of 114kgs. I felt like I had a bit more in the tank but not quite enough for one more rep. I seem to be going a little heavy on my squats, first cycle is in the 7 rep range, it should be around 10...so next cycle, I'll drop the figures slightly. I'm sure it won't be long until I'll re-gain that ground.

I've enjoyed 531 since I stared back in March. I'm seeing a lot less injury and I'm recovering far better between sessions. I'm certainly stronger and starting to see the benefit in the mirror. Strength is my goal at the moment.

I've just started my 3rd year of lifting, I made great over the last 2 years. Doubled my Bench and tripled my Squat and DL's. I'm 43 and I'm getting stronger every month.
ORM BP: 225lbs / DL: 355lbs / Sq: 240lbs....working in lbs makes my lifts look heavier :D

Change of program as my mate who is a decent powerlifter has decreed that my squat form is rubbish. He did it in a nice way and then worked with me to get it right, but... ouch!

    So Hepburn A today:

8x2 100kg Squat, 8x2 72.5kg, Bench, 8x2 70kg Row. 90 secs rest for squats, 60 for upper body stuff. Quite good fun really.

Also my weight has gone up from 216 to 210 after a weekend of being socially naughty. Bah!

Squat rack will be open today so I do my heavy squats ( heavy to me ), then its my normal shoulder day. I added good weight to all lifts last week so today I need to add to the rep range on them. My finish off will be light DL's.......

Feelin extra good this mornin, cant wait to get there.
