Doesn't make sense. Theft and fraud are illegal regardless of who does it.

Ownership of firearms isn't illegal by the over whelming majority of gun owners.

I think there should be extremely strict penalties for felons in possession of firearms. None of this probation sh!t or serving a year or two for being in possession. The penalty should also add 10 years minimum if a firearm was used during a crime. Penalty for crime plus 10 years for firearm.

It seems to me like the real problem (in this particular case) is the allure of gang violence. I'd like to see the police monitor gang related activity and knock off problematic gang members one by one, until it is no longer popular to be a violent gang member.

That girl that was shot happened right in front of a friend of mine. He saw the look in her eyes as she grabbed her chest and went down. That's not something he'll ever forget. The community needs to take responsibility instead of expecting someone else to do something. The answer isn't more gun control laws, it's being parents to your kids and actually giving a damn about them.
