Find out what their goal is. Focus training on that. If it's fat loss like 95% of clients, preach proper nutrition. Find out what their weaknesses are with regards to eating, and give them some tips to fight that.
Focus workouts around pressing variations, pullup/row variations, and squats/deadlifts. Remember that technique is a PRIORITY. Don't neglect ab training either.
Use circuits. Squats/press/pullups for 20 minutes >>> squats for 10 minutes, presses for 10 minutes, pullups for 10 minutes. Don't waste time.
With regard to training them in the future, keep the base of the workouts the same(what I mentioned above), but switch up everything else to keep them interested. You're philosophy shouldn't change but no work out should be the same.
Always make sure your client is progressing.
That about sums it up.
