I was looking at this

what other possibilities are there? i could get a vertical one but i like the idea of a horizontal one. Not sure about putting hooks in the wall.

Have you looked at Rogue's wall-mounted bar holder?
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

I'm probably going to invest in a horizontal rack as well,
I know that fishingeek has the TDS rack that is pictured in the OP for his ivanko bars and plates,
I'm just not sure if I want a freestanding rack or one that mounts on a wall like the rogue.
Both to me look good and have their pros and cons[]---[] Equipment Crew #78 []---[]

I have one of those TDS plate holders (the bumper plate version - so more room, but only stores 2 bars instead of 3). The weight limit (900lbs) includes the bars as well since mine got bent a little when I put 850+ lbs of weight on it. It's not very stable unless you can put it against the wall. Now I put most of my metal plates on the rack (450+ lbs. using 3/4" ID pipe), with only 428lbs. of weight (bumper + metal) on the TDS plate holders.

These are my personal favourite. You can setup as you want. I really like the vintage look:

well its not really a doorway. there is a little over 5 feet of space in that opening. and the wood doesn't feel like molding its hard and solid. its the same as the wood my doors are made of. i took the door off one doorway and the thing is heavy as hell. so definitely real wood. the brace feels as solid as the door.

since my hallway is now open again, maybe i will just build a stand out of some wood. and mount those hooks to the top. make it not thick enough so there is room to maneuver in the hallway. i don't really want it in the hallway but i don't want to chance anything either.

I have both, both works fine for their purpose, Rogue gun rack is more space saving option as does not take any room on the floor, NYBB can also be used to store weights, your choice.
Speaking of Roque Gun Rack, what do you guys use to protect knurling on bars, I installed rack closely spaced to fit shorter EZ-Curl so 7' bars rest on the knurled section instead of sleeves.

I am planning on buying it as I can't seem to find any other free-standing horizontal bar holder in that price range. And it doubles as a weight rack. Can't beat that.
Here is TDS plate/bar holder in action. Picture is not mine, was taken from one of the threads here a while back. I don't remember which thread it was.

You can see a Rogue bar mounted over a doorway in the photo below. I used products from Gladiator Garageworks, purchased from my local Lowes store, for the wall storage that you see in this photo. (This photo was from the Rogue Ring Hanger thread.)

thanks kbkb.
i think i've just decided to go with this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/271140574467...84.m1432.l2649
i offered 70, since i could get it from wayfair for $76 shipped with a free coupon. they probably won't accept but wayfair is pretty cheap. and i can store a few more bars if i get them with this.
i do have a giant plate tree in my outdoor shed that has 4 holes for bar storage. unfortunately its too heavy and big to be inside. takes up more room than my new leg press!▪█───────█▪ Equipment Crew #46 ▪█───────█▪
