Question for the Fitness Gurus out there

I'm posting this in this section since I know there are quite a number of extremely knowledgeable and experienced trainers that post here. I wanted to get your guys' opinion on something. I started my bodybuilding contest prep a few days after Thanksgiving and actually started logging it here in the contest section about mid December. Since that time I've managed to increase my squat and weighted pull-ups. Conversely, the amount I've increased those lifts by happens to be the exact amount of weight I've managed to lose. My question is have I actually increased strength or have I simply managed to maintain my strength? I think it's the latter, but would like some other opinions.

Maybe I'm over thinking this, but my body weight was around 175 and I was squatting 330 for about 2-3 reps so 175+330= 505. Now I'm about 160 and squatting 345 for about 2-3 reps. 160+345=505. So techincally I'm squatting the same amount of weight, but you're probably right I'm probably just stronger and way over thinking this. Thanks for the insight

I'd say pullups are the same but the squat weight is not directly interchangeable so you gained strength there.

If you gained 20 lbs bodyweight you would have to take 20 off your weighted pullups , but your squat would either stay the same or go up slightly.
