sharp sand or builders sand for sandbag

finally getting round to getting it done, snow pushed this back ..

got the duffel bags, rubble bags, duct tape n zip ties, now i just need to order in a ton bag of sand ..

the two choices i have is builders sand (the fine stuff used for paving) or sharp sand (the coarser stuff used with concrete etc)

    which would be better ?

The builders sand will probably mean a floppier bag and the sharp sand a more rigid bag. I would go for the builders sand.

Sharp sand will be better. I would tape the sand bag in duck tape as sand bags 'leak' sand...

orderd the sharp, at 100kg+ it would be better if it wasn't as floppy

I've had success with "playground sand". It's thicker than builders sand, clumps a bit more, but not to the point where it will adversely affect your sandbag. It's softer and will not leak as much.
