    Starting gym today

    Hey everyone! As the title says I am new here and to all the gym stuff. Today is the day that I make the first step in the gym. Good thing is that I am not going alone, but with friends that have 1+ year experience and will help me. This is how I look now(in the attachment) 63kg,1.78m tall, don't know my body fat. I will update this tread and post my progress every month.

    Just got back from the gym and I only regret one thing-not starting earlier. It was one of the best experiences I've ever had !

    I think going with a friend who's experienced definitely helps, spent around the first 6 months of working out not having a clue, wasted a lot of time and wasn't making a lot of gains. But now I know what to do, and my friend who's just started going with me is progressing a lot quicker than I did cuz I can give him tips. Good luck!

    Thanks for the answers But I have another question- today is my second day and I can't do much-every move I do I feel pain (ofc normal) and some ppl recommended me to skip today. Should I skip it or go to the gym?( I mean 1 day isn't a problem)

    I wouldnt necessarily skip a day I would personally just work a different muscle group.
    Although because you have just began lifting i am not completely sure
    a day rest may or may not be beneficial
    Just make sure you are sleeping and eating well!

    If you're doing a full-body routine I would definitely skip a day in-between workouts--aim for lifting 3x/week at first. If you're doing any type of split workout (upper/lower, push/pull, whatever) then you don't necessarily have to skip a day, but just make sure that you won't work the same body parts today that you worked yesterday. In other words, if you did a bunch of bench press on Monday, don't do that on Tuesday--do cable rows or push-ups instead, or switch from your upper body to your lower body on Tuesday and just do legs and maybe core.

    Rest time is crucial for muscle recovery--that's the actual time that your muscles grow and repair themselves. If you don't rest, your muscles never have time to recover, and you won't see quite as much progress.

    Yeah, my friends told me to eat 1hr before going to the gym, and after I get home from the gym again. It's a lil hard,'cuz before I only ate 2 times a day (in the morning and in the evening).
