First time lifter, before pics, advice please

Well I am 27 years old never worked out before but i think i really need to start.
Spent the last month researching everything from nutrition to workout programs and exercises
The only thing im stuck with is deciding do i start bulking or lose my beer gut first?

    I am 5'11" (179cm), 170 lbs (77kg)

I have attached a couple of photos. I have really skinny arms but a fat gut, and my legs kind of chunky

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Been reading these forums for a while now. Its been a good help for motorvation
and im keen to keep a log of my progress.
    Cheers

I am a firm believer that if you're new and have a gut or skinny fat you need to always start with a shred to build a foundation first then bulk after.

    Cut first bulk later.

Depends how you feel i reckon, if you can live with been skinny for a bit and having no muscle then cut, if you'd rather live with a bit more muscle and a bit more fat then clean bulk. I'd go for the latter.
