Ah, don't feel bad diesel. I adopted a puppy back in December. Little Beagle from the shelter. Came home on first day of her alone, she broke through the barricade I made, chewed up carpet, destroyed a blind, pooped twice, chewed through a christmas decoration power cord, broke one limb of my Christmas tree, and chewed a shoe box in the bedroom.

Thankfully that was the only time she got left alone. She started crate training the next night.

I didn't want a dog in the first place, this made it worse. List I've gotten so far:

Poop on carpet ($30 carpet cleaner)
Poop pressed into suede strip rug ($380)
Broken window screens ($112/piece)
Trim broken off and chewed below window ($30)
Entertainment center scratched on top ($???)
Leash tore in 3 ($13)
Chewed on towel ($16)
Couch corners/cushions chewed ($560)
Double doors scratched glass and scratched wood doors ($850)
Garbage can chewed ($10)
Garbage all over room
Pissed on bed ($80 blanket, $800 mattress, misc sheets)


Only reason I didn't shoot him and bury him in the upper hay field is cause he left all my guns alone, which I left leaned up against a end table by the couch he chewed.

I estimated my total damage at around $700. Biggest loss was carpet getting tore up but it was only in one room. So maybe $500-$600 there. Other stuff was like $10-15 each. So I didn't cry quite as bad on those. But I'm thinking it was seperation anxiety. She didn't like being alone and went crazy.

I love dogs, as long as they are not mine. Same with kids. Anymore than 3 days with my nephew and I'm ready to "lose" him in walmart
