    Question about basketball and bodybuilding

Ok so i am making great gains in muscle mass and am excited about where its going. Intramural basketball in coming up and i plan on playing but i do not want to lose all this hard earned muscle. My my question is what all do i need to make sure i do to not lose muscle? Eat more obviously but how much more should i eat? I am currently bulking at 3,800 calories. How many calories should i eat on days i have games. They are 2 20 minute half games. Also should i drink way more water than normal? Thanks and any advice would be appreciated

Are you bulking at 3,800 calories because you figured that out with all the calculations? Or is that a guess? It seems like a lot of calories for someone your size. 80 minutes of basketball won't be enough cardio to bring you way below your deficit. If anything, up your calories by a couple hundred and go from there. Just keep eating lots and lifting heavy. You'll be fine.

Thanks for the response. No I wasn't gaining any weight and figured out 3800 is good for a little progression in weight. Anyone else?

head to the sticky to calculate your calories for bulking, that will tell you how much to eat so aim for that number and adjust as you go. Keep those lifts heavy like kwayzee said and you should be alright
