I was in the navy for 20 years and cant speak with 100% authority when i say that no women in the navy looked like her.

They dont seem to have trouble shaving their heads after bootcamp but I think thats more of a softball team thing.

its really more then just shooting at bad guys in combat too.

As an aside, i was a sere instructor when that movie gi jane came out. I was the key guy in implementing women into sere school in san diego so i have an in depth knowledge of all the ins and outs not only of sere school but of the integration process.

my resposibility was to make sure that it was not watered down for them and i did everything in my power to make sure that it wasnt.

i was also tasked with implementing exploitation procedures to use not only against the females but to use their weaknesses or perceived weaknesses against the men in the classes.

A quick run down would be to stand a line of people up and pick out the weak one. Drag that person up in front of everyone and say you are going to do this and that to them unless the senior person there does what you want. Obviously no one is getting raped or anything like that but that doesnt also mean that they are not going to get roughed up, slammed around, thrown to the ground and smacked about a bit.

drag them back to their feet, exhausted and ask look the senior guy on the eye and he will tell the others to follow the rules. If he doesnt then you can escalate things until he steps up. simple stuff.

of course its a rough place, thats just the nature of the beast at sere but we never treated people like they did in the movie.

What i ended up with was basically something not watered down at all but much more aggressive and difficult to go through which is basically what it would be like in real life in a mixed pow situation.

I have water boarded people and been water boarded myself so i have first hand knowledge.

The movie was as far fetched as glee is to high school.
