    Thoughts on Protein Bars?

So, I've started doing Insanity this week and I love it. However, I've been trying to take more protein in after the workout and I've come across some protein bars and I was wondering what your thoughts are on them. I started trying the Clif Builder bars, which I love because they contain all organic ingredients (I've tried the Chocolate Peanut Butter and Chocolate Mint). The only downside to the Clif Builder bars are that they're kind of high in sugar. I've also been looking at the Nature Valley Protein Bars (although they don't have as much protein in them). What do you think?

Acquire Quest Bars. The ones you mention use soy protein as a main ingredient. It's not necessarily bad, but whey protein is superior.

^^Best bars on the market hands down for taste and nutrient panel. I am also a fan of Clif Builder Bars though for their ease of transport (no heating needed).

I love a good protein bar occasionally. MetRx "Mud Pie Fusion" (32g protein, 9g fat, 32g carb, 3g sugar, 300 cals) ones are my favorites. They're expensive, though, so I only get them when they're on sale. I buy the Nature Valley bars (same that you posted) for my kids and I've had one or two, but they're kind of high in calories for only 10g protein (and most of that protein is lower quality from peanuts). If you're bulking, they're probably fine, but for cutting, I'd stay away.

    Acquire Quest bars and profit.

Coconut Cashew, Cinnamon Roll, Apple Pie and Banana Nut are my favorite flavors, but all of them are great.

They have an amazing profile, the flavors are legitimately good, and they are very well-priced.

The Cliff Builder Bars are delicious. They taste better than Quest bars, however Quest has the better macros.

    My favorite Cliff Builder Bars:
Vanilla Almond (probably the best protein bar I've ever tasted)
    Mint Chocolate
    Cookies and Cream
    Peanut Butter

The rest are mediocre in flavor.

I'm a HUGE Clif Builder Bar fan, but I noticed that they're a little high in sugar and fat IMO. But it's all about your macros. If you have the room for the builder bar, then do it because they're tasty

On the ingredients list, it shows "soy protein isolate" as the second ingredient after roasted peanuts. Whey protein concentrate is on the list, but way down the list after sugar and vegetable oil.

I don't really consider them a protein bar. I think of them as a candy bar with a little extra protein.

Well, the bars in question taste much more like a candy bar than a "granola bar". They're basically chocolate, peanuts and peanut butter.
