putting on too much weight in a week then doing mini cut

if your aiming to put on 1/2 lb per wk but put on mayb 1.5-2lb so you do a mini cut the following to drop dwn to 1lb gained in 2 weeks... is that the same as puting on 1lb in 2 weeks. im just asking because instead of bulking for 2 weeks you'v bulked and cut will that have any negative affects on your bulk???

You're over-thinking it. Plan your diet, set your macros. If your goal is to bulk and you think you're gaining too quickly, cut some calories out then re-weigh in a couple weeks. 1/2 pound per week is good if you broke down to weeks, meaning 2 lbs per month is ok but.... I wouldnt weigh myself every week hoping to see a 1/2 difference. You can vary greatly based on water retention alone, you probably won't know where the 1/2 lb really came from. Personally, I dont adjust cals until I see consistency over a 3-4 week minimum.
