Hi there, question for those who knows....please help to understand that better as there is much controversy info around.
Here is the case- in male over age of 30 with around 20 ish % BF,he starting low calorie diet to cut in range 500-1000 deficit a day.Lifting regularly since years...He manage to cut 2-3% |BF down for a month lets say, and the 2 questions bothering me are, some fitness expert say-you need a refeed day everey 2,3,4 days or ones a week, because of metabolic, hormonal etc.. point of view, you know, everyone knows that story, OR no you don't need refeed day BECAUSE your BF percentage is high-around 20,so till you get low BF % you don't need that re-feeds and don't worry for metabolic, hormonal changes and fat loss stalling...?!?!>?
Any opinions on this guys? The reason I do this treat is even here in forums I read this or that so I decided to give it a try and make it like public opinion in here, hoping there are more people confused about it,so they get it right as well.
And please if you have any supporting materials for one or the other-post it here so we can read it up.
thanks to all!

this was helpful ,thanks..just didnt get what was the annoying part of the post?!? didnt mean to offend anyone.... so you say that the body will not adjust it's TDEE to the daily intake of calories for even 4-5 months till you loose this 20 kilos of fat let's say?! I think it would be very easy that way to be done and no one would have had a problem loosing fat...
any more opinions,or evidence? Thanks...
QUOTE=Vaylor;1016069783]That was really annoying to read. As for your question, no with a body fat % over 20% you don't need a refeed day.[/QUOTE]

You generally don't need a refeed until you're pretty lean, as in under 15%, or if you're trying to train hard on a ketogenic diet, in which case it's useful. The leaner you get, the more often you'd do it, perhaps up to twice a week for dingle digit BF.
TDEE will unavoidably drop during a prolonged deficit, but at higher BF levels, a refeed won't do much to fix it. A full diet break of a couple weeks or so every few months is far more effective at that.
A refeed is different from a cheat meal/day by the way. A refeed is high carb, low fat, adequate protein for 1-2 days, usually well over maintenance.
