Sounds reasonable i think i paid $45 for the one i ordered from midwest industries.

Block size depends on the barrel profile

At least with most places if something big is wrong they will cover it, i just assumed you were meaning canted sights and loose mags.

My WASR is one of my favorite weapons and one of the most fun for sure.

Yes but about the gas tube issue, I've seen a small number actually affect the action of the gas piston and bolt carrier.

Plus who wants to ship rifles back through FFLs and wait weeks for something that should be right from the start.

I grew up about 45 minutes from downtown Chicago and my wife is from a northside suburb.

We got a little off track going to a White Sox game once. Yikes.

Between growing up right next to Gary, going to Chicago on the weekend/during the summer as a high school student, and having a terrible sense of direction before everybody had GPS, it's a wonder nothing ever happened.

Lol you were lucky for sure. It's a rough area. I remember back when I was 15 going through the southside on the amtrack and being flipped out about how it looked.

I.O. AKs, Gen1 PAP m70s, and inspect WASRs in person before buying.

I personally hate m10s but I'm sure others don't agree. Typically mostly US made, ugly front sight, with tactical crap on it.

the manufacturer should have listed a spec but if not you could try using calipers

edit: wait why dafuq u getting a block? it looks like it has an fsb which is the block so i would use that and get a centurion 2 piece rail or daniel defense 2 piece rail

There's been a long history of people having issues with I.O. Aks and the company itself. They have a "lifetime warranty" on their AKs that they rarely back and typically only will follow through if the company you bought it from fights for you.

I just put them on my avoid list and steer clear as their are better options... which is why I listed them under my avoid list. The limited supply changes a few things.

Would buy WASR without inspecting, anything that could be wrong is an easy fix.

I've seen too many with ripped up mag wells and crooked gas tubes. QC has gotten better though. Typically people who buy WASRs are just getting into guns/rifles so I'm sure most would not be too happy if they needed extra work and are not a DIYer.
btw, my WASR is my favorite AK hands down.

Had some great food. Ginos actually lived up to the hype and the Chop House was worth the LaRue pricing. I've had Mortons in a few cities and Chop was one of the best steaks I've ever had (55 day ribeye).

In picking up the tactical conversion kit for my mossberg tomorrow so I'll be installing/cleaning everything since I'm sure my deer rifle needs a cleaning as well as the handguns.
