That's how Pennsylvania does it, last I checked. In and out with your license. Or maybe it's only some counties...not sure.

I've received a license to carry from three different states (one state twice). None have taken longer than 15 days, and none have cost more than like $50 max. And none required training or any exams.

ugh Texas charges $140 for civilians on top of passport photos ($10) fingerprinting ($10) and the cost of the class which ranges from $60 to $130. Not to mention a 6-8 week wait. Of course, if you get a TX CHL, then you're allowed to carry in like 34 other states.

34 if you include Florida, Colorado, South Carolina, and Michigan who only honor TX resident permit holders. If you're out of state with a TX chl then they wouldn't honor it.

I went to the Delaware Sheriff to get my permit after my ccw class. Took about 1 week from submitting my forms to get my license. I then sent $20 to Pennsylvania to get my license for that state.

Lol yep, just got home. I cannot tell you how many times I felt for my carry gun and panicked when it wasnt there (normal habit). I felt naked without it for the first few days. Stayed in a good part of the north side and walked in groups. Cold as phuck. I actually really liked the city and people were friendly, though.

Yep, but I guess it's more of a privilege to be able to carry on your person out in public. I'm just glad I'm fortunate enough to be able to afford it. They should have some kind of payment plan for it.


EDIT: I do like how we're able to carry in our vehicles now without any kind of permit and without having to prove that we're crossing more than 3 county lines (or something like that) like it used to be.

Majority are fine. Ones noted below are typically widely available.

Arsenal/Fime Group are typically at the higher end.

Everything else.

Avoid:
I.O. AKs, Gen1 PAP m70s, and inspect WASRs in person before buying.

I personally hate m10s but I'm sure others don't agree. Typically mostly US made, ugly front sight, with tactical crap on it.

I've seen too many with ripped up mag wells and crooked gas tubes. QC has gotten better though. Typically people who buy WASRs are just getting into guns/rifles so I'm sure most would not be too happy if they needed extra work and are not a DIYer.

I grew up about 45 minutes from downtown Chicago and my wife is from a northside suburb.

We got a little off track going to a White Sox game once. Yikes.

Between growing up right next to Gary, going to Chicago on the weekend/during the summer as a high school student, and having a terrible sense of direction before everybody had GPS, it's a wonder nothing ever happened.

btw, my WASR is my favorite AK hands down.

At least with most places if something big is wrong they will cover it, i just assumed you were meaning canted sights and loose mags.

My WASR is one of my favorite weapons and one of the most fun for sure.
