To what do you attribute your exceptional bench press abilities?

I started off swimming, believe that or not, so had the wider shoulder, developed traps, triceps, etc. Genetics helps but taking something you’re good at and pushing it harder than you’ve pushed anything ever before will put you in a place that no one has ever been. And I feel that everyone has that gift, they just may not want to admit it. I fought the urge to keep bodybuilding because I Googled "powerlifters" and honestly, didn’t like what I saw. However, I chose not to fit to the norm and make my own path and I love every minute of it.

Gyms lifts don't count. I've squatted 950 in the gym.

Bummer he didn't talk about any of his training. Are gym lifts usually just a touch n go lift? If so why wouldn't he just go for the record?

Gym lifts are generally touch n go, and in some cases sever chest bouncing.

I didn't have a typo...and why would I even claim that it counted, it was a gym lift and that was it. Is it that hard to perceive after doing a few competition lifts paused with 672 and then pausing 690 shortly after that a touch and go with no stress of weighing in, judges, at my own gym that this isn't feasable? And I am going for the record...after my little girl is born in March, so assuming I get no sleep for a few weeks after that...shooting for May or June.

I do, as it said, post my workouts on the website, not the entire thing but at least a basic sum up of what I did...yesterday was a few paused triples with 600, over exaggerated long hold for start command on every rep, paused at the bottom...Will be posting at least month vids on there as well.

Sitting around 262 now...probably won't go over 265 but won't drop below 260...

Crazy, not too far of tripling your own body weight. Would be sweet to see some of your current training vids. Good luck on breaking the world record. I think Spoto is going for the record again in March, do you have much to do with Eric?

Anyone would be regardless of who it is, not saying I don't believe it because Hoornstra IMO is the best bencher ATM but usually with a bench like that there would be a video. I actually perfer his route of not video and not giving any credit to his gym lifts and trying to get strong enough to legit break the world record with a proper paused bench. not whoring out vids building hype of gym lifts.
