Recent studies seem to indicate it may only be statistically effective (20% reduction in pain) in people with moderate to severe pain. Google "GAIT Studies" for citation.
"Two-Year GAIT Study Results: June 2010
New data from a long-term study of the dietary supplements glucosamine and chondroitin for knee osteoarthritis pain reveal that patients who took the supplements (alone or in combination) had outcomes similar to those experienced by patients who took celecoxib or placebo pills. Previous studies have examined the effects of glucosamine and chondroitin on pain associated with osteoarthritis of the knee over a short duration—24 weeks. This study, published in the Annals of Rheumatic Diseases, is the first to assess the safety and effectiveness of the supplements over two years."
Overall support for this supplements use are anecdotal and as of yet is not supported by most doctors in my experience. My shoulder surgeon basically shrugged his shoulders....try it if you got the money. It might help, it might not.
Probably better off taking Naproxen(OTC) if you are looking for pain relief, that's what I was given after my surgery.

I tried Cissus RX and i'll be honest and didn't notice a single difference. It seemed absolutely useless in my opinion, in fact most joint supplements do. The only one that I have noticed "works" is Animal Flex but the price is making me think twice about re-ordering it again.

It will really depend on what is causing your joint pain however for all around joint support you can rely on Animal Flex. It is a specific joint formula and only a joint formula. It is comprehensive and complete with patented ingredients that you don't find in other formulas.
With Animal Flex you don't need to stack it with any other products.
Give it 2-4 weeks to fully kick in. Let us know how you like it.Last edited by naturalguy; 01-29-2013 at 05:47 PM.

None that I ever noticed but I tend to tolerate just about anything pretty well. Even though my shoulder hurts a bit from time to time I don't usually take meds for it. Only if the pain continues in a relaxed state. I did end up getting Osteo-Sport that they sell here and it contains a broad range of potentially beneficial ingredients. As others have mentioned it is rather expensive and as some have noted the pain comes back when they stop. Not much different than taking a Naproxen or other OTC pain pill, only it's cheaper and scientifically proven.

I stack Oximega fish oil, Orange Triad, and SNS Cissus.
