Is it helpful for Joint Pain?

Glucosamine and Chondroitin are two of the supplements that helps in reducing Joint pain. How far do you think it helps in relief of joint pain, what are the characteristics that makes it to be effective for relieving from pain?

I would opt for cissus over glucosamine personally. The data seems mixed on it, but you also have folks who swear by the compound. In terms of reliving serious joint pain, I wouldn't head towards an OTC remedy. That would be a question for your doctor.

Recent studies seem to indicate it may only be statistically effective (20% reduction in pain) in people with moderate to severe pain. Google "GAIT Studies" for citation.
"Two-Year GAIT Study Results: June 2010
New data from a long-term study of the dietary supplements glucosamine and chondroitin for knee osteoarthritis pain reveal that patients who took the supplements (alone or in combination) had outcomes similar to those experienced by patients who took celecoxib or placebo pills. Previous studies have examined the effects of glucosamine and chondroitin on pain associated with osteoarthritis of the knee over a short duration—24 weeks. This study, published in the Annals of Rheumatic Diseases, is the first to assess the safety and effectiveness of the supplements over two years."

Overall support for this supplements use are anecdotal and as of yet is not supported by most doctors in my experience. My shoulder surgeon basically shrugged his shoulders....try it if you got the money. It might help, it might not.

Probably better off taking Naproxen(OTC) if you are looking for pain relief, that's what I was given after my surgery.

I tried Cissus RX and i'll be honest and didn't notice a single difference. It seemed absolutely useless in my opinion, in fact most joint supplements do. The only one that I have noticed "works" is Animal Flex but the price is making me think twice about re-ordering it again.

Have you looked into Joint Help yet? That paired with Orange Triad seems to be the best 1-2 combo punch for all types of pain.

I would second, consider looking into joint help. The reviews have been unreal and plenty of logs to verify this for yourself.

Good joint supplements aren't usually cheap, but would you rather miss workouts or half-ass it in the gym because you are in pain? Odds are you spend money on something else that you could use to add a quality joint supplement.

It will really depend on what is causing your joint pain however for all around joint support you can rely on Animal Flex. It is a specific joint formula and only a joint formula. It is comprehensive and complete with patented ingredients that you don't find in other formulas.

With Animal Flex you don't need to stack it with any other products.

Give it 2-4 weeks to fully kick in. Let us know how you like it.

Have intake of Naproxen caused any kinda side-effects ever?

None that I ever noticed but I tend to tolerate just about anything pretty well. Even though my shoulder hurts a bit from time to time I don't usually take meds for it. Only if the pain continues in a relaxed state. I did end up getting Osteo-Sport that they sell here and it contains a broad range of potentially beneficial ingredients. As others have mentioned it is rather expensive and as some have noted the pain comes back when they stop. Not much different than taking a Naproxen or other OTC pain pill, only it's cheaper and scientifically proven.

I want to agree with this. iForce Joint Help (ParActin, cissus) alongside Controlled Labs Orange Triad (joint complex) and Oximega Fish Oils would be the most comprehensive joint support that you could get, for an incredibly affordable price.

I prefer gucosamine 4 grams daily and msm a couple grams

ive used so many joint formulas on the market orange triad, animal flex(which is a favorite), flexamin, so so many over the years

nothing will get an injury better but rehab therapy of some kind and time off m, going lighter

Is it that one has to be depended on this forever or there is any chances that it will permanently reduce the joint pain?

It's to hard to tell, it depends on what the source of the pain is. If it's just a strain/inflammation.. it is possible. But actual damage, you may need an orthopedic eval.

I stack Oximega fish oil, Orange Triad, and SNS Cissus.

Well it's not going to heal you if that's what you are asking but it will help with pain and inflammation while taking it. Best you can do to help on a long term basis is usually some type of therapy exercises. Yoga is said to be pretty good too for it.

I do too : can you have too much cissus ?
My dosing : 2x3 joint help and 2X2 primaforce
    Reason :
    - cissus in joint help = 10%= better for joint health
    - primaforce cissus = 40 %= better for reducing cortisol : weight control

    Makes sense ? ( damn, I sound like a certain doc :-) :-))

You have to be careful taking cissus for injuries. Cissus has some analgesic properties, and if your training injured you dont want to push beyond what your really capable of (as in feeling pain is a sign that can prevent further injury.)
