training will definatly perserve muscle mass but your strength going up...i doubt it
when dieting your glycogen stores are really low wich diminishes your strength
You can add muscle mass and strength on a cut. As you get leaner it gets increasingly difficult to do so, and pretty much impossible to do so under 8% or so, but it definitely happens.
Ive gained 100 lbs on my dead, 60 on my squat, and 40 on my bench while dieting for the last 10 months.
