id recommend against using ones that provide wrist support because in the end you will have very undeveloped forearms and weak joints at the wrist. The ones that essentially just protect against calyces, however, are just fine. I wouldn't personally know any good brands from experience but I'm sure you can go to your local sporting goods store and they'll help you find something ideal.

I bought a cheap pair of golds brand from Walmart for like $8.
Other than that just tough it put and use chalk when doing deads. How long you been lifting consistently now? Might just need to build callouses.
Btw I stopped using gloves months ago.Powerlifter convert. Follow on instagram Sharpie_bendingbarbells

If you're developing bad callouses and subsequently tearing them, my guess is you need to learn how to grip the bar better:
Row/Pull/Dead Grip:
What you don’t want to do is to place the bar in the palm of your hand, why? because when you wrap your fingers around the bar , the skin below your fingers will fold around the bar.
Wrong way
Right way

Never bothered with them, and I don't get serious callouses. Nothing that can't be smoothed down easily once in a while, anyway.
Chalk, yes (for heavy deads only) but not gloves. Frankly, I wouldn't trust them with any decent weight anyhow (like dem deads, say). But if people want to use them, fair enough. Whatever works, as always.

Personally I like using gloves. I have bought cheap ones from meijers and they tear so I woudn't recommend them. But I have had the same pair of sheik gloves for a while now about 3 years and I really like them. Sometimes Ill use them and sometimes I won't It really depends on the exercises I'm doing. I work construction and have worked with metal before for a long period and it can take a toll on your hands so I find it very helpful to have them. Ill use straps sometimes also doing dead lifts and heavy rows.
These are the ones I use

I don´t like gloves one bit, tried them once and that was it. And neither can I recommend them to anyone else.
The reason why I don´t think they´re any good is that they make gripping things much worse:
1) The addition of gloves effectively increases the diameter of the bar and thicker things are harder to grasp.
2) The addition of an additional layer between you and the bar means that there is an additional layer in there that can shift around and hence loosen your grip.
Now I understand that some people wear gloves to protect their hands. Yes it is true that this will work but if you lift regularly without any "protection", your hands will soon toughen up and the skin will thicken. If you still have problems with tearing skin then consider eating more zinc. Some multivitamins come with zinc included or you can get some extra tablets. When I first started snatching more often without any straps (snatches are hell on hands) then I was tearing calluses all the time. However when I started taking zinc they repaired themselves very quickly and after a while my hands had skin thick enough to handle it.Strength + Speed = Power
If you never fail, you aren't truly pushing yourself to the limit. If you never push yourself to the limit, how do you know what you're truly capable of?
