Good day, I am Cool Coco, 18 years old bodybuilder and nutrion major.
Here is my educated opinion on If It Fits Your Macros:
What is a macro? It is a carb, a protein, a fat. Right? But but what about other things that do exist such as MICROS? And what about dat dere fiber? What about overall satiety?
Dude 1 eats the following meal: 1 whole pizza, one large fries, one energy drink.
Dude 2 eats the following meal: 1 pound of broccoli, 2 cups of brown rice, 200g of chicken breast and sips a coffee.
They both hit their macros and are feeling full like fuark
One hour later, dude 1 already starts feeling hungry again
One hour later, dude 2 is still like holy ****, that was a fantastic meal and I am full as fuark
5 hours later, dude 1 has already binged because he got hungry again and found a bag of chips
5 hours later, dude 2 is chilling with his friends at the mall, not even thinking about eating
However, 1 hour later, dude 1 goes to the gym, has a great session and stuff.
However, dude 2 is still at the mall with his friends. Why? Because dude 2 is such a pussy that he is waiting after his friends to go to the gym
3 hours later, dude 1 is chilling with his girlfriend, feeling swole, sipping on his optimum nutrition protein shake.
3 hours later, dude 2 takes the bus back home, takes a long shower and goes to sleep. Did he lift? No.
Moral of the story? People who use IIFYM will go to the gym more often and will be more consistent in their efforts while those who eat ''clean'' will most likely quit lifting only a couple of weeks after starting.
So please, people. If it fits your macros, eat it. Do not bother with clean or healthy foods, cholesterol or even sodium, they're not macros after all.
Thanks for reading.

I can see what you're trying to say
begginers would be put off if they feel like they have to always eat brown rice and oats
But IIFYM doesn't mean eat as much **** as you want, IIFYM should be scrapped completely and people should stick with 'flexible dieting'
if you're craving ice cream, go ahead and eat it
if you're going out with your mates to a meal, enjoy yourself
as long as it fits into your macros
doesn't mean you should eat ice cream and chips all day everyday
Common sense can go a long way

There are so many other variables that OP didn't even consider. Seriously.
There are a lot of questions that have gone unanswered that can affect who "trains more consistently" such as
1.) What color shirt was dude 1 and dude 2 wearing that day?
2.) What kind of car does dude 1 and dude 2 drive?
3.) Has dude 1 or dude 2 make sexual contact before? (dude 1 might have never fapped before and might be a virgin, hence he has more testosterone and will continue to see gainzzz so he'll continue lifting)315b/405s/500d @ 168 bw (July-August 2013)

That's the biggest load of crap I've ever read.
Not only is your thread hardly to do with IIFYM at all... as in, it doesn't even explain what it means properly. But, if people are putting in the time and effort to making a proper diet and sticking to it, they'll be more motivated to go to the gym if they're not doing IIFYM because otherwise they're dieting for no reason whatsoever.
Don't get me wrong, I love IIFYM, I do it a lot... but it does knock you off schedule more than a real diet, because all you really have to do is stay within your macro's.When you want to succeed, as bad as you want to breathe... then you'll be successful.
